This page will explain the differences and features of the
different electric snow shovels that can be purchased. The
three manufactures are Toro, Show Joe, and Yardman Machines.
There are a few differences between the snow machines but in many
ways, they are similar. A potential buyer should compare the
specifications of the electric power shovels before making a
decision. Pay attention to the motor, warranty, price, and
construction. These snow shovels ar emainly used for small
areas like porches, sidewalks, and decks.
Snow Joe - This electric snow shovel weighs in at 12.5 lbs and
features a strong 7.5 amp motor which can throw the snow up to 20
feet clearing 12 inches per pass. The Snow Joe model 322P design
features a unique curved ergonomic handle which relieves pressure
on the back. The construction is high quality and certified
by ETL testing laboratories.
Toro Power Shovel - This electric power shovel is the most
popular of the three models but slightly more expensive. It
has some nice features. One of the nice features is that this
electric shovel doubles as a power broom in the summer. It
has a straight handle but it is telescoping to adjust to the
operators height. Because of its electric nature, one
potential problem area is the extension card coming undone.
With it cord lock system, it will not be a problem with this
machine.
Yard Machines Snow Fox - This electric shovel is the most
powerful of the 3 snow machines. It features a 8.5 amp motor
and throws snow up to 25 feet. It weighs in at a hefty 20 lbs
and is the most expensive of the three. Some features are a
three position chute and a double insulated engine. It comes
with a two year limited warranty.
